Labrador and Fortune - Aesop's Fables

A farmer who, from sunrise, removes his land for planting, found a vessel full of gold coins and said:

-Oh, Mother Earth, thank you for the gifts you grant me!

While he thanked him, he was throwing a gold coin in the grooves, in the belief that the earth had handed him such a treasure.

Fortuna, in view of this lavish conduct, I recriminate the farmer in this way:

-Tell me, friend, why do you thank the earth if I grant you the wealth? If the situation would change and the coins would pass into other hands, I'm sure you would blame Fortune.

Always recognize who put good in your hands.
